On a residential scale, it is a comprehensive planning process that locates and details every phase of the project from construction, construction detailing, vehicular circulation, pedestrian circulation, irrigation, planting, lighting and maintenance schedules.

Design-Build services can be any portion or all of the above design services bundled, yet with the intended purpose of the design-build company's being in control of the actual construction and implementation as well as the design process. This provides a savings to the owner due to an elimination of drawing revisions, detailing, and specifications. Small details can be worked out on the site by the design-build contractor, landscape architect, and owner with a minimal loss of time and expense.
