It looks as if we might be getting an unusually early spring here in the South. So this entry may be less relevant than I had planned. However, it has always been difficult for me to not overstate how important it is to plan early for those spring and early summer projects. Most often freezing temperatures keep us from wanting to even go outside--much less be outside for any extended period of time. As a result that is the time we need to get a head-start on the garden plans and/or exterior construction projects to be completed by the time we most often want to use them, between 58 and 87 degrees! For our zone that usually translates to March through May or early June.
So many of our projects are elaborate enough to last for two to three months. If one wants a March completion, that will mean getting the details worked out and starting in maybe January. The bottom line is that our work carries on 12 months out of every year and we welcome projects for that entire span of time. Let's just keep in mind the reality that when you start wanting to complete work for spring parties and get-togethers, most everyone else in the city is having the same thoughts.
For those of you who were able to plan ahead this year, thank you. We're excited about how the next couple months will pan out. For those, like me, who think life goes by much too fast and are starting to think about your renovation project for 2012, let's don't wait too late. Call today so that we can get someone out to start making your desires for this season a reality.
