GARDEN
CONSTRUCTION
The
functional garden is the emphasis and objective of all
that we do. Most
of our work consists of the “hard,” permanent, built
landscape. This
will usually fall under the heading of wall,
floor, and/or ceiling.
The wall
may be anything from a stacked stone retaining wall used
to level areas of earth, to a pierced brick wall or
stucco columns with wrought iron inserts that define
rooms in the garden.
The floor
might range from the brick patio abutting the back of a
house to the stamped concrete or interlocking paver
driveway making the approach from the street.
Ceilings
are usually limited to conventional ceilings of an
out-building such as the pool-house or gazebo or the
simplicity of the filtered overhead arbor.
All of these built spaces
can then be augmented with water features, planting,
irrigation for planting, and outdoor lighting of varying
degrees.
here are many
styles of garden construction available.
Most are dictated by the existing architecture of
the home or building.
However, all should be ultimately fastened to the
needs and lifestyles of the owner and/or end user.
